TYPES OF DISTRACTIONS
Distractions are of two categories;

2. External distractions
Many don’t know about the first one but here I’ll be discussing both in detail.

overcoming internal and external distractions

INTERNAL DISTRACTIONS
Internal distraction occurs mentally and physically within us. They include stress, anxiety, fatigue, sleep, hunger, sickness. They are mostly emotional and are connected with our thoughts.
These distractions take place within us, that is they are not due to outsiders.

It’s easy to overcome internal distractions if you have full control over your body and emotions.

How to overcome internal distractions:
Here’s how you can get better in controlling internal distractions according to its origin ;

1. Emotional: This kind of distraction covers brain activities and feelings. While making yourself ready to get done your work on time, make sure that your feeling better and energetic. You must not be into stress, anxiety, depression during your work time.

Sometimes you can control your emotions but sometimes you just can’t. If the thing you are stressing about is not big and you can ignore it for better focus then you should.

 Choose the time of the day when you feel most energetic and you have fewer thoughts, fewer things to worry about.

  Internal distraction- stress, fatigue, tiredness

2. Physically: This side covers your physical condition. Like your sleeping schedule, hunger. Take notice of your sleeping schedule. If you are not getting the right amount of sleep then you cannot focus better. Your quality of work will be not up to the mark.

In case of hunger, eat healthy around your working time. Try to avoid getting full. Eat as much as required or you will feel drowsy. Also, don’t ruin your food routine just to do work. Rather adjust both in accordance.

 Understand your daily routine better. Observe which time of the day you are feeling excited or happy and at which low. You can also engage in self-talk which is encouraging.

EXTERNAL DISTRACTIONS
When you get distracted due to other external reasons it’s an external distraction. They cover visual triggers, your digital addiction, unnecessary social interactions, calls.

They occur due to outsiders and you can get control of them easily.

How to control external distractions:
 Follow these simple steps for better results.

1. Plan your day: Write in your planner a night before what you want to achieve the next day. Make planner in sync to avoid internal distractions also, so that you can overcome both at the same time.
 Plan how many hours you will focus on work and how much you will take a break.

2. Review your plan in the morning:  At the start of your day look at your planner and get an overall idea of how and what you are going to do. This will help you to be organized throughout the day.

3. No phones and internet: You cannot concentrate if your phone keeps buzzing while you are trying to concentrate. Either put your phone in airplane mode or lock it in some cupboard. I mostly leave my phone into another room when I want to get done my work. As I am lazy, I never want to get to that room to get my phone just for the little surfing urge.

4. Take a healthy break:  Rather than using your digital devices during break choose to go for a walk. Or sit idle, breath and meditate.

Make sure to try these tips for better distraction control.

How I quit Social media for two years and learned "5" valuable lessons.

I did make a good decision when I quit Facebook two years ago. At that time I wasn’t even on WhatsApp and Instagram.  It was quite irresistible at the beginning but as a habit, I got used to it slowly. Why I quit social media?   I don’t like getting dependent on things and when I realized that Facebook has made me an addict, it was the only decision I wanted to make.   But there a few more reasons that not only I but many of you can relate. 1. Wasting a lot of my valuable time on screen.  2. Ruining my productivity.  3. Having distracted attention all day long. Why I didn’t control it?   In the beginning, I also tried to control my usage over social media like many others but it didn’t work.  And the reason behind it is, a little fascinating; Social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, WhatsApp are designed to be addictive.  You may not know but the Owners of these platforms spend millions of dollars researching what humans find ...

“9 things I learnt from 'The 5am Club' that no one ever talks about."(A guide to understanding life better)

     I love reading. After starting my blog, my reading capacity has accelerated much faster.  The favorite ones are self- help books. I am personally into them a lot.  So I have just completed “The 5am club” by Robin Sharma, the same author who wrote, “The monk who sold his Ferrari”.  I am following Robin Sharma for the last 2 months. I listened to his podcasts, read his book, watched YouTube videos. And I am deeply moved by his teachings.  The book “5am club” reflects the writer’s knowledge about “becoming successful” in the most catchy way. Before moving to the 9 points, I would like to tell you about the book a little to my readers who want to try this book. (It’s worth trying) WHAT IS THERE IN THE BOOK:  5am club is all about success strategies. But not like other success teaching books, it has been written with deeper facts. While reading the book you can relate to every single line.  You’ll feel like “ ohh my god, I was living with suc...

"Here's how , your 'friends' are effecting your productivity."

One morning you wake up and there’s a random song playing on your radio. You may not like that song at first, still as you heard this song again and again, on your way to an office or at the tea shop or anywhere.  It starts running in mind and later that day you found yourself humming that song. It's a very common thing to happen to most of you.   When we do something on repetition, our mind starts absorbing it.  This is the perfect example for you to understand that when you  spend too much time around unhealthy people, you become the same. " Unfortunately our mind doesn’t discriminate between good and bad as we develop habits, the results we get done." It is an old saying “  our friend circle defines who we are” .  Surrounding yourself with unhealthy people will never make you rise any higher.  It hardly matters how much you try to do something great, the ones around you will find a way to put you down.   As we grow up we lose many friends....
