“You are not an Internet ‘geek’ if you know these 4- facts"

Last night I was watching an interview with PV Sindhuone of the renowned badminton players in the world.

 There she was asked “what success mantra works for her the best. ”? She simply said that she does all the required things her coach Gopi sir asks her to do.

The interviewer asked the same question to Gopi sir,
 where he said “ before 8 months of the tournament he
 took away Sindhu’s phone to avoid any kind of distraction”.

Yeahh!! Exactly what you are thinking. She was without internet, no social media, no chatting i.e. no distractions for 8 months.

On asking the reason for the same, he said something all of us should admire ;

He said,  when you move forward towards your goal, you gotta leave things that hold you back. Doing so will make you realize every moment, why you left what you left.”

Since I really love these types of motivational speeches, it got to me to think; the most distracting thing right now for us as a youth is digital devices, the Internet, social media.

My curiosity got me to search a little which lead to some astonishing facts about why the young generation is getting addicted to these.

Here they are in detail;

  • We have a reward hormone, dopamine, and a pleasure hormone, serotonin in our brain. When we check our social media and see that people liked or commented on our videos and photos, these hormones are released.                            Dopamine gives us the feeling of being rewarded   and on the other side serotonin gives us a feeling of pleasure or you can say relaxation. But the important point here is both of these are just for a short period of time. After that, you’ll feel normal as before but till then, you might have lost the important time of your day which must be spent on your valuable tasks.

  • Another thing I discovered was, every time we check our phones (online or offline), we leave a part of our energy residue on the screen. This is the reason why we feel tired after a whole day surfing the net.

  • Using phones or laptops at night before sleep kills your sleep hormones. The white screen fools your brain to think as if it is day and thus it takes a lot of time to finally fell asleep. Due to the same, we feel tired even after 10 hrs of sleep.

  • Waking up in the morning and checking your phone at first is not healthy. Just think you got a nice sleep at night, your brain got relaxed, your cells are energized, then you woke up checked your phone. Boom !! All that concentrate energy that must have been used in some very important work is again scattered due to unnecessary social media’s scrolling. (my own experience)

Now I wanna ask you, Do you still think you can be productive after so much loss of energy?? Of course not !!
To work effectively in your most important tasks to need to conserve your focus, your energy.

 I also found the common trait among all the successful leaders, athletes, entrepreneurs. They have full control over their digital usage.

 They are always saving their energy for the most important tasks of the day. They are using those gadgets to make their living rather than living in them.

Robin Sharma in his book “The 5am club” has described these legends in this way :
To have the results only 5% of the population has, you must be willing to do what 95% are unwilling to do.

 This makes clear what makes those legends a true performer. They are indeed doing what a few are capable of doing.

And our young generation must understand this.
The facts that I listed above are enough to make you realize how bad these addictions are for us and should try to do every possible thing to control it.

"Here's how , your 'friends' are effecting your productivity."

One morning you wake up and there’s a random song playing on your radio. You may not like that song at first, still as you heard this song again and again, on your way to an office or at the tea shop or anywhere.  It starts running in mind and later that day you found yourself humming that song. It's a very common thing to happen to most of you.   When we do something on repetition, our mind starts absorbing it.  This is the perfect example for you to understand that when you  spend too much time around unhealthy people, you become the same. " Unfortunately our mind doesn’t discriminate between good and bad as we develop habits, the results we get done." It is an old saying “  our friend circle defines who we are” .  Surrounding yourself with unhealthy people will never make you rise any higher.  It hardly matters how much you try to do something great, the ones around you will find a way to put you down.   As we grow up we lose many friends....

“9 things I learnt from 'The 5am Club' that no one ever talks about."(A guide to understanding life better)

     I love reading. After starting my blog, my reading capacity has accelerated much faster.  The favorite ones are self- help books. I am personally into them a lot.  So I have just completed “The 5am club” by Robin Sharma, the same author who wrote, “The monk who sold his Ferrari”.  I am following Robin Sharma for the last 2 months. I listened to his podcasts, read his book, watched YouTube videos. And I am deeply moved by his teachings.  The book “5am club” reflects the writer’s knowledge about “becoming successful” in the most catchy way. Before moving to the 9 points, I would like to tell you about the book a little to my readers who want to try this book. (It’s worth trying) WHAT IS THERE IN THE BOOK:  5am club is all about success strategies. But not like other success teaching books, it has been written with deeper facts. While reading the book you can relate to every single line.  You’ll feel like “ ohh my god, I was living with suc...
