2 simple tricks to "fool your brain" to do difficult things easily.

It is so much easier to spend 2-3 hours watching your favorite web series or playing your favorite game or surfing Instagram. At the same time, those 15 minutes spent on studying feels like hell!

But do you know the reason behind this?

No! Here’s why.

We have a pleasure hormone named, “Dopamine”. This hormone is released when we are doing things that are pleasurable. Things that we enjoy doing.

And as we all love watching movies or scrolling through social media, this pleasure hormone gets released, giving us the feeling of excitement and pleasure. Learn more about this here "You are not an internet geek if you know these 4 facts

That’s why I didn’t know how my decision of watching one episode of dark changes to five.(lol)

How this “pleasure hormone” actually works?

I think now it becomes necessary to know more about “dopamine” and how it works.

Researchers say that this hormone is released mostly when we are doing work whose result is uncertain. In more clear words, things which we don’t know where they’ll lead us.

Just take the example of playing games. While playing the game you don’t know whether you’ll win or lose. You are just playing so that you can feel the pleasure of winning it and when you lose you start it again.

Has it ever happened that you stopped playing the game after one match? I don’t think so. At least I didn’t. Maybe you could have, only if your will power to quit playing is strong enough.

The same goes for watching Netflix. You are too curious to know the end of that series that you finish it over the night.

In short, know this as a fact that dopamine is a rewarding hormone also. You feel like you did great after completing that series you’ve been watching all night. But soon you realize it was a guilty pleasure.

Why working on our important tasks needs so much motivation?

Taking out time to study was the most difficult work of my day. I used to plan a lot before actually sitting to do it. I needed so much energy and motivation.

Actuallydopamine doesn’t get released when we are doing things that we don’t like. And so, those things never felt pleasurable.

This is the same reason you hate waking up early in the morning or to set yourself up for work out. All these things need an urge to fight against your will of not doing them. Since dopamine is not released, you need much more will power to fight that urge.

Even the simplest task of eating dinner after being hungry or drinking water feels amazing because of the release of dopamine.
Everything that gives us pleasure is just due to the release of dopamine.

Tricks!!

The truth is no matter how much I or you hate doing those ugly work, these are the only things that play a crucial role in our growth.
We have to do them. But again it's our choice to make it less torturing or not.

So I have found some basic techniques that are for our brain to work at boring things with much more enthusiasm.

I have been experimenting with them for a while now and let you know that this works for sure! Here they are;

1. Since dopamine is also a reward hormone, we must use it that way. By this I mean, let’s do all the difficult things first and reward ourselves by the kind of stuff that produces a gush of dopamine.

I usually take up my most important tasks like making notes of my subjects or thinking key points to write a blog post first and then do my favorite thing.

My most pleasurable thing is watching movies or web series. And I am addicted a lot to these. You can try the same.

2. Another trick is to work with extreme focus and no distraction on your project for only a few minutes.

Set a timer. It can range between 15 minutes to 1 hour, depends on your desire to complete it.

After the timer rundown see whether you want to continue doing that work or not. If the answer is no then just simply put off.

This technique will help you achieve more in less time as you will be giving your entire focus on that work at least for a few minutes.

I usually do this when I don’t want to study but the deadline is approaching so I have to get it done somehow.

Conclusion

Doing pleasurable things first increases the tolerance level of dopamine. So taking boring things to do later becomes much more difficult. Because now you won’t be getting much dopamine as when you were surfing the net.

All you have to do is fool your brain and accommodate more on doing things that are not so interesting.

You will slowly build a habit. Just keep processing again and again.

Now you have understood better about the activity of dopamine. And the tricks to handle it.

So what are you waiting for! Start applying them to get the  great results.

"Here's how , your 'friends' are effecting your productivity."

One morning you wake up and there’s a random song playing on your radio. You may not like that song at first, still as you heard this song again and again, on your way to an office or at the tea shop or anywhere.  It starts running in mind and later that day you found yourself humming that song. It's a very common thing to happen to most of you.   When we do something on repetition, our mind starts absorbing it.  This is the perfect example for you to understand that when you  spend too much time around unhealthy people, you become the same. " Unfortunately our mind doesn’t discriminate between good and bad as we develop habits, the results we get done." It is an old saying “  our friend circle defines who we are” .  Surrounding yourself with unhealthy people will never make you rise any higher.  It hardly matters how much you try to do something great, the ones around you will find a way to put you down.   As we grow up we lose many friends....

“9 things I learnt from 'The 5am Club' that no one ever talks about."(A guide to understanding life better)

I love reading. After starting my blog, my reading capacity has accelerated much faster.  The favorite ones are self- help books. I am personally into them a lot.  So I have just completed “The 5am club” by Robin Sharma, the same author who wrote, “The monk who sold his Ferrari”.  I am following Robin Sharma for the last 2 months. I listened to his podcasts, read his book, watched YouTube videos. And I am deeply moved by his teachings.  The book “5am club” reflects the writer’s knowledge about “becoming successful” in the most catchy way. Before moving to the 9 points, I would like to tell you about the book a little to my readers who want to try this book. (It’s worth trying) WHAT IS THERE IN THE BOOK:  5am club is all about success strategies. But not like other success teaching books, it has been written with deeper facts. While reading the book you can relate to every single line.  You’ll feel like “ ohh my god, I was living with suc...
